Surfing in Port Elizabeth
Port Elizabeth is the watersport enthusiasts dream, with beautiful unspolit beaches, quality wave breaks, and excellent visibility.
Surf spots include, pipe @ pollock beach, millers, fence, humewood and a host of others outside of the bay!
Pollock Beach
Come and watch the surfers at this beautifull beach just off 10th Avenue in Summerstrand, very popular during the hot summer months, and for the quality waves that break here! Surfers and tanned bodies, what more could you ask for!
Life savers are on duty during normal hours and there is ample parking near Something Good or on the other side of Summerseas Complex. The new walkway will take you all the way to the Beacon near Admirality Way, or, if you go the other way, to Kings Beach!
Sardinia Bay
Sardinia Bay, just between Schoenmakerskop and Seaview, via Sardinia Bay Road. One or Port Elizabeth's most popular beaches, has picnic facilities and is regarded as one of the best walking beaches with miles of unspoilt coastline. Fishing is not permitted as the coast has been declared a Marine Reserve, but snorkeling and scuba-diving are very popular, as well as surfing and horseriding.
Sardinia Bay is also the starting point of the very popular eight-kilometer Sacramento hiking trail...
